Armonie d’Autore: The Bands of Sardinia on Stage to the Notes of Franco Cesarini

The bands of the Medio Campidano area return to the spotlight in a regional event of great cultural and artistic significance. The Federation of Musical Bands of Sardinia, in collaboration with the Conservatory of Cagliari, presents the project Armonie d’Autore: The Band on Stage to the Notes of Franco Cesarini, an initiative that combines training, performance, and the promotion of band music.

The project, funded by the Fondazione di Sardegna, aims to strengthen musical culture and promote collaboration among the island’s different band organizations, creating “harmonies” that are not only musical but also relational. The undisputed protagonist will be Maestro Franco Cesarini, who will lead the musicians of the Federation’s Representative Band and the Wind Orchestra of the Conservatory in a high-level educational and artistic journey.

The events will take place at the “G. P. da Palestrina” Conservatory in Cagliari, with the following schedule:

October 29 at 10:00 AM: Conference “The Wind Band: Tradition, Evolution, and Future”

October 31 at 9:00 AM: Seminar “Composition and Instrumentation for Wind Band”

October 31 at 6:30 PM: Concert “Armonie d’Autore” at the Conservatory Auditorium (free entry).

Among the participating bands are some important groups from Medio Campidano: the Città di San Gavino Monreale Musical Association, the “Santa Cecilia” Musical Association of Villacidro, the Giuseppe Verdi Musical Associations of Serramanna and Serrenti.

Since September, representatives from all bands have been meeting regularly at the conservatory for joint rehearsals. This represents an important moment of exchange for band musicians from Sardinia, who will be playing alongside conservatory students. The musical quality of the bands involved in the project is also sure to benefit.
