With Quadrants des rêves (Dream Quadrants) Franco Cesarini invites you to embark on an extraordinary journey into the world of dreams — a sonic universe born from his deepest imagination. The work guides the listener through four dreamlike dimensions: Light, The primordial Play, The lost Nature, and The Rite of Origin. It is the soul itself, suspended between wakefulness and sleep, that leads this visionary path of thresholds, evocations, and transformations, culminating in an Apotheosis in which everything dissolves and is revealed.
The six movements - Aubade, The Awakening of Play, Pastoral, Dance of the Quadrants, Play of Light and Apotheosis of the Dream - create a vast symphonic fresco of extraordinary expressive power. Each section represents a passage, a transfiguration, an intense and evocative sonic experience that enables the wind band to explore timbral colors, contrasting dynamics, and interpretative depth of the highest level.
For the wind orchestra, Quadrants des rêves is much more than a composition: it is an artistic opportunity. It is a work that enhances the ensemble’s instrumentation, fosters musical maturity, and offers audiences a powerful and immersive experience. The final Apotheosis, with its almost Dionysian energy, becomes a moment of great emotional and theatrical impact, where every sonic element converges into an irresistible collective rite.
In 2026, Quadrants des rêves was the set piece for the excellence category at the Federal Music Festival (FFM) in Biel/Bienne (Switzerland).
